I always turn up early to shoot images at dusk, I mean stupidly early, I can be standing around for a good couple of hours before getting the shot in the bag.  This comes from bitter experience having arrived just that little too late, locating the best place to shoot from, setting up tripod, camera, laptop and cabling only to get that terrible sinking feeling as you see the light slowly ebb away, the sky becomes too dark and the subject too light and the realisation you’ll be returning another day to get the shot.

This summer I was delighted to be commissioned by Ingleton Wood, a multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, to shoot this image amongst others of the St. Anne’s Quarter development in Norwich. Situated right on the banks of the River Wensum I knew I had to use the reflection in the water, it took a couple of visits before conditions were still enough to get the shot.

Once again my fear of losing the light got the better of me, time on location two hours, time required to capture images three or four minutes!
